Taking a close look

I’m pretty good at giving you regular updates on my writing, but that doesn’t happen as often with my photography. I think part of the reason for that is that I usually post photos here every Saturday, so I don’t feel the need to update you as often.

The thing is, though, I haven’t been posting photos every Saturday lately. Largely because I haven’t been taking enough photos.

I’m not sure when my photo-taking habit started to lag, but I do know that I don’t like that it did. So I’ve developed a bit of a plan to fix the problem, and I thought that I would share that plan with you today. Even if only for the sake of accountability.

First and foremost, I’m trying to get back to taking pictures every week. Admittedly, I took this blackberry one about three weeks ago, and my attempt to take photos last weekend failed horribly. (All I’m going to say is make sure you actually have a memory card before embarking on a cold photo walk.) But I’m not giving up. I’m jumping right back into taking photos again this weekend, despite not yet having figured out what my subject will be.

Which brings me to the next step in my plan: I’m going to start taking on photo challenges again. I’m not sure yet if I’ll go back to the 52Frames challenge, or if I’ll find different ones on Pinterest or something, but I’ll figure it out. I just want to have some fun with it.

Finally, I have a goal to add to my Adobe Stock collection each month, and my Print Shop at least every other month. I’ve been doing alright with that goal so far. I missed last month for Adobe Stock, but I’ll be adding a few photos there this weekend. And I already added a couple new items to my Print Shop in January—prints of the flowers I got in November.

So, that’s where I am with my photos. I’ll try to update you on them a little more often this year, maybe even give you a little more insight into that side of my creative life. I hope you enjoy it!
