Learning as I go

I’ve been painting quite a bit lately. Not quite every week or anything, but still fairly consistently.

It’s been good for me. Between the creative outlet and the opportunity to learn something new, it’s been a really beneficial hobby.

At the same time, it’s been a good reminder of my priorities. I paint for fun, not to try to create a new career or anything. It’s an enjoyable pastime, not a passion.

My passion is still writing, and I need to focus on it more.

I’m definitely not about to give up painting—I enjoy it far too much. But I am glad for the reminder that I need to put my writing front and centre a little more often.
