Winter flowers

A close-up of small, red flowers on a green background.

I’ll be honest: The only reason I’m calling these “winter flowers” is because I got them during the winter. As a Christmas present, actually. I really have no idea if they normally bloom during the winter, or if they can appear at any time of the year.

Regardless of when these flowers bloom or how often, I like them. They’re pretty and they’re small, and they’re a nice burst of colour in my front window right now. Particularly since my orchid still seems to be hibernating.

Rather unfortunately, though, some of the flowers seem to be dying. Not many of them, luckily, but some. My hope is that I can keep the others growing well enough that the plant lives for at least another couple of months, if not longer.
