
Self-portraits… aren’t really my thing. Part of it is that I don’t have a lot of experience taking them, so I’m not sure that they turn out well, from a technical standpoint.
Most of the issue, though, is that I simply don’t like pictures of myself. I’ve never liked pictures of myself. That’s why I stay on the other side of the camera.
The first of the weekly 52Frames 2020 photo challenges, however, was to take a self-portrait. And, since I refused to fail on the first challenge… here I am.
But if I’m being honest, I’m moderately happy with how this turned out. The right parts are in focus, the framing came in where I wanted, and the lighting is decent. True, there are some shadows where there shouldn’t be, and, well, it’s a picture of me, but things could have turned out worse.
I’m going to go ahead and call this first challenge entry a success.
