Favourite five: Make-me-feel-good movies

That’s a mouth-full of a description in the title, isn’t it? It really is the best way to describe these five movies, though. I can’t really call them feel-good movies, because they don’t all fall into that category. They are, however, the five movies I’m most likely to turn to if I need cheering up, or if I just need a distraction of some sort.

You’ve likely seen most, if not all, of them already. If you haven’t, though, you should check them out the next time you’re feeling down, or just feel like smiling. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

Guardians of the Galaxy

I’m a fan of most of the Marvel movies, and I’ve watched quite a few of them more than once. But when I need to laugh? Guardians of the Galaxy is the one I’ll choose. There’s just something about that Rocket-Groot duo that I can’t help but love.

The Emperor's New Groove

The Emperor’s New Groove is the oldest movie on my list, but, no matter how many times I watch it, it still makes me laugh. It’s just the right level of ridiculous and heartfelt to make me feel good, regardless of what’s going on.

While most of the movies on my list are likely to appeal to a wide audience, Coffee Shop might be the exception. It’s definitely one of those fluffy romantic movies that a lot of people don’t much care for–and that I often don’t care for. But, for some reason, this one just pulled me in and hasn’t let go.

Pitch Perfect

Pitch Perfect is one of those movies that I like, but I really can’t explain why. All I know is that it’s one that I can count on to make me laugh when I’m feeling down, and that’s enough to earn it a spot on this list.

Lilo & Stitch

Clearly I’m a Disney fan. Then again, I know few people who didn’t like Lilo & Stitch. While I might be cheating just slightly by including it on this list because Netflix took it away from me (and I don’t, unfortunately, have a copy of my own), it’s a movie I turned to when Netflix did have it available. I still crave it fairly often, and I can’t help hoping it’ll come back to me one day soon.
