They make such a good combination, don’t you think? This pie seemed to take that a step further, though I can’t say for sure. I made it for a fundraiser at work, so I didn’t actually get to try it myself.
Well, not in its entirety, at least. There was chocolate custard left after I filled the pie, so my family and I indulged in that a little bit.
I’ll have to make this again sometime, so that I can try a piece for myself. I’ll make sure to post a recipe review when I do. In the meantime, if you’re curious, you can find the recipe over on Love and Olive Oil.
Who doesn’t love pie?
Actually, scratch that. There’s a girl I work with who doesn’t even like pie, never mind love it. But you know what she did like when I brought them in to work? These Peach Hand Pies.
And do you know what you’ll like about these Peach Hand Pies? The way they taste, of course, but also the fact that they’re fairly easy to make. Yes, they take a fair bit of time, but it’s time spent on easy tasks, I swear.

I try a lot of new recipes throughout the year. Sometimes they’re recipes I’ve made up, other times they’re recipes that have been perfected by home chefs and bakers across the internet. Either way, I enjoy the experience of trying something new.

But you know what? The end result is totally worth it.

I’m not gonna lie: strawberries are one of my go-to fruits. I turn to them regularly, whether it’s to eat them as they are or to use them in a recipe of some sort. You don’t have to look far for proof on that last point; just check out the “strawberry” and “strawberries” tags here on my blog.
In these Strawberry and Cream Cupcakes, however, the strawberry flavour is just a little more subtle than you might expect. It’s definitely there, it’s just not overpowering. Instead, it’s nicely balanced by a soft, creamy vanilla base–perfect for a light-tasting dessert.
