Portraits of Oreo

Oreo is not an easy cat to photograph.

He spends very little time sitting still. Then, when he does finally calm down and you pull the camera out, he either tries to play with it or moves in subtle enough ways that your photo come out not quite right.

Getting these portraits took some effort. First was setting up a pillow in a spot likely to tempt him, but that still allowed for light, a decent background, and space for me and my camera. Next was waiting for him to come down from one of his hyperactive episodes. And finally, there was actually getting the photograph—those usual acts of framing and focusing and adjusting settings.

It was a process. But at least I got a couple of nice pictures out of it.
