Brightening things up

Writing is easily my number one creative outlet, and photography is my second. But here’s the thing: Every once in a while, I crave a little something different.

I think everyone does. Or nearly everyone. It’s human nature to want to mix things up a little bit.

Last weekend, I did that by painting a little bit. I had this odd amount of excess energy on Saturday night—not enough to go out and do something, but too much to just sit around watching a movie. I remembered I had an extra canvas sitting around, and these watercolour paints (both from an old Christmas project), so I put them to use.

I didn’t exactly know where I was going with it when I started, but I had fun with the process. And, though it isn’t perfect, I’m relatively happy with the end result. Well, possible end result. I may still add something to the bottom corner; I just haven’t quite decided on what yet.
