Animal instinct

It always surprises me a bit when animals don’t flinch at the sound of a camera’s shutter, especially when I’m as close to them as I was this little frog. The edge of my lens couldn’t have been more than a few inches from him, and yet he just sat calmly on the lip of the net while I clicked away.

As much as I love photographing animals, it can sometimes be frustrating. They tend not to be still for very long. They either want to run from or inspect the camera. Basically, they go ahead and follow their instincts.

Despite all of that, I still find it easier to photograph animals than people. It’s a lot less stressful, somehow. Plus, you get some utterly adorable pictures out of it.
