And it’s… mid-February. How did that happen?
It’s probably needless to say, but January was a busy month. Much busier than I’d anticipated, and (though it’s inconsequential to this post) much colder.
It all left me a bit exhausted, if I’m being honest.
That said, I did manage to get a decent amount of work done. Let’s focus on that for a bit, shall we?
January’s goals
- Take a class on MasterClass
- Read through CD and look for potential edits
- Send one short story out on submission
- Edit one short story
- Find spring craft/trade shows
Like I said above, I did finish some of these goals, just not all of them. It’s probably best if we take a look at them in order this time around.
I wasn’t able to take that class on MasterClass, and, unfortunately, my subscription on the platform ran out. Though I am hoping I can sign up again in the future. I found it really useful while I had access to it.
In terms of CD, though I didn’t finish reading through the manuscript, I did make some really good progress on it. It’s on some good footing moving into February.
It’s the same with my short story goals. I didn’t edit one, but I did send one off to be considered for publication.
And, finally… I made no progress with my spring craft/trade shows. Definitely dropped the ball on that one, and I have no excuse.
So, there are some successes in there, and some… not-so-successes. Which means it’s time to focus on next steps.
February’s goals
- Finish reading CD
- Find 1 free learning opportunity
- Edit 1 short story
- Find spring craft/trade shows
It’s a fairly similar list to last month, just slightly shorter. And hopefully more attainable.
I guess we’ll see how it goes.
In the meantime, what do you have planned for February?
It feels like time is flying! I agree! I like the goals list! I do the same thing and also to do lists! 👍 sometimes you can’t get everything done when you would like but it feels good knowing your workin towards accomplishing your aspirations and goals! 🙂
