Fun with feathers

Do you know what I really felt like photographing this week? Birds. They’ve been chirping outside my window every day, and I wanted to see if I could catch at least one of them on camera.

But I didn’t even manage to catch sight of them. They’re shy little buggers.

Instead, I made due with taking pictures of a little fake bird decoration. You’ll see the bird itself next week, but in the meantime I wanted to share a couple of close-ups of its feathers.

It was quite fun, actually. I enjoyed figuring out how far to best distance the camera from the feathers, finding the best f-stop, and seeing how the pictures themselves turned out. I’m quite happy with the results, too.

So, even though I didn’t get to see my birds this week, I still count these pictures as a win. Maybe I’ll get pictures of the birds another time.
