Bad hair day

Is it mean to say that about this little caterpillar? I hope not. Because his hair does seem to be a little all-over-the-place in these pictures.

This little guy was wandering around my container garden last weekend, so I thought I’d take the chance to get a few pictures of him. I think I may have spooked him, though. He stopped moving after the first couple of pictures, and didn’t start again until a few minutes after I’d stopped.

I can’t decide which of these two pictures I like better, which is why they’re both here. They’re essentially the same, I know. But they were taken at different angles, and feature different details.

In the one at the top, for instance, you can almost make out the caterpillar’s mouth. But in this second one, you can see more of his pattern.

So, I don’t know. Which do you prefer?
