Wednesday links: 10 common typos

I love regularly reading tips and advice articles in certain subjects — particularly writing and publishing. I don’t always need the information right then, but I know that it’ll eventually come in handy. Or at least, I hope it will.

I know there are a lot of other people out there who feel the same way I do, but sometimes it can be difficult to find every useful advice article that’s out there. So I thought I’d bring you a few. Here are the tips and advice articles that jumped out at me the most this week.

  1. 10 Screenplay Typos That Will Make Them Think You Can’t Write, from Huffington Post: I know the title of that post mentions screenplays, but the typos it talks about are ones that you need to watch out for in a manuscript, too. Excerpt: “Also called story analysts, these are the folks who tend to get barely perceptible tweaks in their nervous systems when a glaring typo hits them during an otherwise perfectly good read. If there are enough of these glaring typos, it won’t be long before the script reader begins to think the person who submitted such a woefully inadequate effort has no business being a writer.”
