I’ve been a bad blogger over the last couple of weeks. I’ve fallen behind in my posting, and I want to apologize for that. There’s a lot that’s been going on, but I’m not quite ready to post about all of it.
I would like to tell you about the first week of May, though. That week, my family and I flew down to Las Vegas. We rented a house near the edge of the city, and spent a week doing everything from gambling on the strip to visiting the local dairy production facility.
On our second or third day in the town, we drove a short distance out of the city to Red Rock Canyon. And if you ever get the chance, I recommend you do the same.
The drive through Red Rock Canyon is beautiful. Mountains tower above you, streaks of red splashed across their faces. As my mom put it, “It’s like someone took a brush and painted it on.”
You could drive the entire time you’re there, or you could get out and explore each stop. Personally, I could have spent a lot more time wandering in certain areas. But I’m not nearly brave enough for the rock climbing other visitors take part in.
I hope the photos after the jump make up, at least a little bit, for my time away. And next week, I’ll post others from my trip.
What about you? Have you ever visited a place that takes your breath away the way Red Rock Canyon did for me?
