I always find little thrills of happiness in Inkheart: details I'd forgotten, literary references I've since come to understand, that sort of thing. There's always something that makes the book worth re-reading.
The Marbury Lens, by Andrew Smith, is perfect if you're looking for something a little bit dark, a little bit literary, and a little bit fantasy.
Erica Kiefer's young adult novel The Second Window falls into two genres: Suspense and Romance. I haven't read it yet, but you can bet it's on my list.
