I love regularly reading tips and advice articles in certain subjects — particularly writing and publishing. I don’t always need the information right then, but I know that it’ll eventually come in handy. Or at least, I hope it will.
I know there are a lot of other people out there who feel the same way I do, but sometimes it can be difficult to find every useful advice article that’s out there. So I thought I’d bring you a few. Here are the tips and advice articles that jumped out at me the most over the past week.
- 7 Rules for Creating an Excerpt from Your Book, from Writer’s Relief: Have you thought about putting together an excerpt from your book? I’ll admit, the thought hadn’t occurred to me before. It could be useful, though, and now I’ll be able to look back on these tips to help me craft one. Excerpt: “Creating a book excerpt is like focusing a microscope over a given section of your story: It can bring out all kinds of details you might not have otherwise seen. Excerpts can also help you get your book published; literary agents get excited about reading manuscripts when the author can boast that certain passages have already been published in literary journals.”
