Alright, yes, I know. This is another late-in-the-day, delayed-by-a-week Sunday Update. What can I say–it’s been a busy couple of weeks.
But, I have good news! I did a fairly good job of accomplishing the goals I’d set weeks ago. And, despite what you may think, I did accomplish them within that first week.
This past week, on the other hand, was spent on a bit of a break. I was feeling a bit burned out, to be honest, and I needed to take some time to line myself back up.
Now that I’m feeling like myself again, let’s get down to those goals.
- Revise three chapters of V&L.
- Rewrite the C&C scene.
- Finish off that Recipe review post.
- Continue NaNoWriMo planning.
- Finish the second piece of my Halloween costume.
I’m not going to go through all of my goals this time around. I will say that I accomplished numbers one, three, four, and five, and that doing so left me with a particularly strong feeling of success. That came in large part from finishing off this past round of V&L revisions, but also from putting the finishing touches on my Halloween costume. All I have left with it now is to work out some makeup details.
Unfortunately, I can’t say C&C caused a similar feeling. I still haven’t managed to make it through that scene. I’ve decided to put it on hold for another week or two, and then go back to it. I’m not sure why I’m so hesitant to deal with it, though.
But then, maybe it’s because I look at it as having to “deal with it.” I think I’ve lost a bit of passion for that particular part of the story, and I need to find a way to re-engage with it. Maybe some fresh eyes will help me to do that.
So, yes, I’m putting it on hold. And in the meantime, I’m going to focus on a different set of goals.
- Work on some minor V&L edits.
- Outline my NaNoWriMo novel.
- Take some picture options for a photography post.
Pretty straightforward, right? And, hopefully, not too far out of reach.
Now, how have your past couple of weeks gone? Did you find some success in your own goals?
