I love regularly reading tips and advice articles in certain subjects — particularly writing and publishing. I don’t always need the information right then, but I know that it’ll eventually come in handy. Or at least, I hope it will.
I know there are a lot of other people out there who feel the same way I do, but sometimes it can be difficult to find every useful advice article that’s out there. So I thought I’d bring you a few.
Here are the tips and advice articles that jumped out at me the most over the past week.
1. Multiple Offers, from Books & Such Literary Management: I’m sure every writer has wondered what it would be like to get multiple offers on a manuscript. This post will give you a bit of insight into that experience. Excerpt: “As I write this I have five excellent offers on my desk for one of my clients and am awaiting one more before the close of day. Today was the deadline for making an offer.”
2. Ten Things To Never Say To A Writer, from Terrible Minds: This post is more fun then anything, and the title is pretty self-explanatory. Fair warning, though: Chuck Wendig can use some language that not everyone will appreciate. Excerpt: “They say this to you with this wistful gleam in their eye, as if writing is just a hobby, like it’s just some distant silliness that they’ll get to when they manage to win the lottery. A worse (the worst, even) version of this is: I have a book in me.”

Oh, Chuck Wendig! He is something else. I love his posts. And Multiple Offers looks interesting- one can certainly dream about those!
I love reading his posts, too. Especially the ones that he occasionally writes about what’s going on in the news. They always manage to make me both laugh and think a bit. And usually nod in agreement.
