Sunday Update

Well, another week has gone by, and I’m not quite sure how I feel about this last one. I did get quite a bit done, but not as much as what I wanted.

Let’s take a quick look back at last week’s goals, shall we?

  1. Write that new My Thoughts on Writing post–and, if possible, get it posted.
  2. Revise five more chapters of V&L.
  3. Revise 10 printed-off pages of C&C.
  4. Edit those new recipe photos.

I can tell you right off the bat that two of those goals didn’t happen. I didn’t get my new My Thoughts on Writing post written, although I did get it outlined. And I didn’t get my C&C pages reviewed. I took the binder to work with me with every intention of revising some pages during my lunch breaks, but it never ended up happening.

See, this wasn’t the best week sleep-wise. I feel like I didn’t get nearly enough, for some reason.

That’s making an excuse, though. And that’s exactly what I’m trying not to do with these posts.

So, let’s move on. Time to talk about what I did accomplish.

I’m happy to say that I got through revisions on all five of those V&L chapters. And I’m feeling really good about those revisions. I think I’m well on my way to having that manuscript ready to send out.

I also did more than just get those recipe photos edited. I got them edited, wrote the post, and had it ready to go up on Friday. If you haven’t already, you can go take a look at my Sweet and Buttery Waffles recipe.

And that’s where things stand now. Half of my goals accomplished, and the other half still waiting to be worked on. I’m going to carry those two over to this week’s list.

Speaking of which, here’s my complete list of goals for the week:

  1. Get that My Thoughts on Writing post written.
  2. Revise at least 10 printed pages of C&C.
  3. Revise at least 6 chapters of V&L.
  4. Start work on a new short story.

Yes, it’s a fairly repetitive list, when compared to last week’s. But, I’m determined to get those first two goals taken care of, and I’d like to improve on my V&L goal.

I’m also adding in one related to a short story. It’s been a while since I’ve worked on a short story, and I’m missing the feeling a bit. I’d like to at least get a start on one, if I can. Luckily, I’ve got a few ideas to build off of.

So, tell me. What are your goals for the week?
